NEWS RELEASE

South College Doctor of Pharmacy program accreditation extended to 2029

South College School of Pharmacy’s Doctor of Pharmacy program has earned accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) through June 30, 2029.

“South College School of Pharmacy continues to demonstrate why it’s a top-notch program for the education of future pharmacists,” South College Chancellor Stephen A. South said. “Accreditation helps potential students understand the commitment we make to pursue, maintain and improve our programs to provide excellent education and training in this important field.”

South College School of Pharmacy offers the only accelerated-throughout, three-year Doctor of Pharmacy program in Tennessee. Dr. Bill Gentry is the dean of the South College School of Pharmacy.

“We’re not content to just hit milestones then move on,” Gentry said. “We’re focused on keeping up with innovations in the field of pharmacy and continuously improving our program to provide the best possible outcomes for the students. Recognition of extended ACPE accreditation confirms that our effort in didactic courses, clinical training, faculty, external preceptors, and more are meeting both qualitative and quantitative standards.”

South College currently has 259 students enrolled in the Doctor of Pharmacy program and is accepting applications for the next cohort that starts in June 2022.
